About us

An icy cold spell in February 1956 was the reason for Kurt Wilms to look closely at heating technology and to create a heating solution that was as simple as it was ingenious. That was the birth of the first oil-fired instant heater from Wilms: the UGO (universal large-space oil heater) solved countless cold weather problems and saved many a company from serious damage.

Through consistent development, Wilms built a complete range of instant heaters, fired by oil or gas or run electrically, as air heaters or as infrared for targeted spot heating, even for outdoor use.

In 1966 Wilms extended its production range and brought the steam jet cleaner (today more aptly called a high pressure cleaner) for commercial use to the German market. That was the start of an additional product line, which has since grown into a complete range, supplemented by wet and dry vacuum cleaners, sweepers and scrubber driers.

Since 1985 Wilms has been one of the leading problem solvers when it comes to moisture. That includes dehumidifiers, which dry rooms and parts of buildings economically without adding heat and prevent moisture damage. Building on this, Wilms also develops and sells odour neutralisers and underfloor screed dryers.

What all products have in common is a high technical standard, from the soundness of the design through manufacturing quality to complete, reliable service on site.

Perfection on principle is therefore both our standard and our philosophy. And that will not change in future under the leadership of Jochen Wilms.
